Thursday 5th March 2015……..in and out!!!

Thursday so that must mean two hours of tennis and it was… I so enjoy three mornings a week getting out on the courts and still so happy to report that I move around the court like a man of 66 but I do make the occasional high light reel shot but best of all lots of fun and no injuries!!!!

I went straight from tennis to my Spanish lesson…..this one we used the hour to talk and I realize I need to commit to memory lots of little glue words in the language so that is my homework for the weekend!!!

Did a few chores and was home in time for a quick bite to eat and then off to get Paola and to take her back to the dentist..Dr.Laura examined her and said the retainer was doing it’s job and for us to come back in two weeks and that will decide if she needs to have a brace on the top teeth.

We stopped at the chicken res restaurant on the way home and I got her a full chicken take out dinner for her and her family….I will see her again on Saturday.

Back home by 4 o clock and just relaxed had something to eat and got ready for my class tonight.

This was a little different as the students from level 6 the ones I taught last year joined my class as their teacher was away.

I had told them all on Monday about pay it forward Wednesday and explained the whole concept of paying it forward and how many different forms it could talk and I challenged every one of them to do an act of paying forward yesterday and then come to the front of the class and talk about it……I know they like challenges!!!

To start it off I told them what I had done to pay it forward………I have two tickets for a play on Saturday night and I know Marisol, my Spanish teacher likes the theatre so this morning I gave the ticket to her with the intention of her taking the ticket and getting another one for one of her friends and go to the play imagine my shock when she said thank you and what time are you going to pick me up!!!!!  So I am going to the play on Saturday evening with a 29 year old beautiful Mexican lady….I just hope everyone of my friends and all my tennis buddies are in attendance!!!!

My class thought that was so funny and then they took turns and came to the front and told what they had done yesterday………it was an emotional and absolutely wonderful experience hearing their stories and we all agreed it was a special event and one that they may just continue every Wednesday I hope so!!!!!

So now after a full day I am relaxing and watching a hockey game…life is good and I am blessed!!!!!

How the Internet Started..........

............ according to the Bible!

In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a healthy young wife by the name of Dorothy.

And Dot Com was a comely woman, large of bosom, broad of shoulder and long of leg.

Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com.

And she said unto Abraham, her husband, "Why doest thou travel so far, from town to town, with thy goods when thou couldst trade without ever leaving thy tent?"

And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load,

but simply said, "How, dear?"

Dot replied, "I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling you who hath the best price.

The sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah's Pony Stable (UPS)."

Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the drums.

And the drums rang out and were an immediate success.

Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ever having to move from his tent.

To prevent neighboring countries from overhearing what the drums were saying,

Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew. It was known as Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language to transmit ideas and pictures - Hebrew To The People (HTTP).

And the young men did take to Dot Com's trading as doth the greedy horsefly take to camel dung. They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS.

And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going to that enterprising drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought out every drum maker in the land. Indeed he did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother Gates' drumheads and drumsticks.

And Dot did say, "Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others."

And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or eBay as it came to be known.

He said, "We need a name that reflects what we are."

And Dot replied, "Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators."

"YAHOO," said Abraham.

And because it was Dot's idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com.

Abraham's cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid (GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dot's drums to locate things around the countryside.

It soon became known as God's Own Official Guide (to) Locating Everything (GOOGLE).

That is how it all began.

And that's the truth.......!!!
