Friday 2nd January 2015…the day of giving!!!

John  Doherty is a Canadian who lives part time in SMA with his lovely wife Sharon, who unfortunately is back in Vancouver under going some medical treatments…together for over 5 years they have been responsible for delivering gifts to children in the campo’s around SMA who otherwise would receive nothing over the holidays.

I have been honored to be a small part of this for the last 5 years and today was the day of the delivery of the gifts.

About 20 kind folk met at the deaf school where the other day we wrapped all the gifts….along with a lovely lady Gigi we were in charge of the biggest school and we had all the gifts nearly 260 of them all wrapped labeled and sorted into age groups and ready for the kids.

In convey we drove out into the campo of La Campana and were met by all the kids, their parents and it seems all of the village…..

We set up inside the school court yard and arranged all the children in ages from 3-5 6-9 and 9-12 and rows for both girls and boys.

Three Kings were in attendance and handed out a gift for each child…..it blows my mind to see all these children standing patiently row by row in anticipation of a gift…not one cross word…not one shove or push…not one tear and everyone of the children said “Gracias” when they received their gift…..

Join me and the photos of this incredible day!!!!
