Sunday 18th May 2014......Day 40!!!!!

So the big day for all of Hull arrived and Janet, Andy and i were packed up and ready to take the 200 mile drive down to London in "almost little bluey 2 ".

I did the driving and getting used to being on the wrong side of the road was easy but the motorways are so busy you have to concentrate the whole time.  We made a couple of stops at the motorway rests stop and the atmosphere was delightful...hundreds of good natured fans.  The team's nick name is the Tigers hence all the yellow and black striped shirts
Andy is a big fan and proud to show his ticket i tried to buy it from him for an extra 5 pounds but without success!!
With Malc's great directions we were at the train station in just over 4 hours then it was the train
to the stop closest to Wembley stadium.....so it could not have been easier no fighting all the traffic.
To see and hear all the fans of both sides joyful banter between them was an amzaing sight...

So Janet and I saw Andy off to go into the stadium and we both wished coming all this way the noise of the occasion that we were lucky enough to have tickets but it was not to be so whilst Janet went and did a little window shopping i went and scouted out a place for us to watch the game on TV...
It did not take me long to find a Holiday Inn hotel with a nice lounge, arm chairs and a big TV
The first 8 minutes of the game was amazing.....Hull were by far the underdog team and in the first 8 minutes they scored two goals the most glorious of starts but alas as time went on the Arsenal team managed to get those two goals back and the game went into overtime where the Gunners, Arsenal's nickname, scored what proved to be the winner and they lifted the cup!!!!
We met up with Andy after the game  he really enjoyed the whole event if not the score and we did the journey in reverse.....we arrived home at 1 am and we all had a special day which we will always remember.
So i drove 400 miles and it was an easy drive had a good sleep and now doing this post on.....wait for it

on my new thanks to Sam...

So a wonderful day......now i have a treat lined up for myself and will post tonight.....my goodness this was so easy on this key board!!!
